Mini girls trip!

I have found that in order for me to be a good mom and a great wife, I need to take time for myself. So I now take it when ever & however I can. I drove down to SLC to meet my best friends Sierra and Penny for a little relaxation and a LOT of laughing and fun!

We only had a short time to play so we took full advantage of every hour. We meet up with Deanne from Heber and had a great dinner with her. We went shopping and the girls were VERY patient watching me try on over 20 pairs of jeans. I wish I would have thought to take photos in the store? Next time!

We stayed up late talking and laughing. There is nothing better than a girl friend to love and support you.

I had to stop on the side of the road and take this amazing picture. When I drove home it was a beautiful day. The blue sky and white snow looked amazing. I felt so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country. I felt lucky to have an amazing family, kids that are an inspiration to me. I felt lucky that I married Jason and that he knows and supports how important it is to me that I take time for myself.

I am glad to have girl friends! It is so important to have good friends that love you. I surround myself with great people. It makes me a better person. I learn and grow from all those around me.

Some moments make it all worth it!

Jason and I came home from going out to dinner to find the little kids in bed and this note on our bed. It had been "one of those weeks". The house was a mess and I just needed a break. When we came home our bed was made and these notes were on the bed waiting for us! 3 baskets of clean laundry were folded and set in piles for each child. Along with a hand made coupon book promising other chores to use another time.

Camilla had taken it upon herself to fold all the laundry, make my bed and put out these darling notes!

When I went in to kiss the sleeping kids good night. I saw her snuggled in bed waiting wide eyed with a HUGE smile on her face!
I love this girl.

Fun Family Night!

I had a great idea for a fun Family Night. We got the kids in the car to go to the local thrift store. We each had to go in, pick out a funny looking shirt and then wear it to Iceberg to get shakes. The kids had so much fun picking out the perfect silly shirt.

Here are a few photos of our really fun night!

We told the kids that they would not get a shake if they did not wear their silly shirt into the diner.

As we sat and ate ice cream and talked I looked around the table at these beautiful kids smiling and having a great time together. I am so happy at this stage of my life. Yes it is hard everyday to keep all these kids on track, but I would not change it for anything else.

We of course got the giggles and really could not stop laughing. It was contagious. Our cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. I love being a Mom and Jason and I love these kids. We could look at their laughing faces for hours. What more do you need in life than happy fun family memories.

I would bottle up this stage of our family if I could. We are having a blast together. Everyone of us enjoys being together. I am truly happier than I have ever been in my life and I think it shows through the kids!

Happy 39th Birthday!

Jason turned 39 this year! WOW! How time flies. I met Jason when we were 19! That is 20 years ago. What a great 20 years it has been. One thing that is not lacking in our house is fun. For Jason's birthday this year we bought him Rock Band for the xbox. It was the best gift ever. We have had so much fun playing for hours and hours. It is so great because the whole family can play together.
Happy 39th Jason!

Little Girls Dancing

Centennial High School has a Dance Club fundraiser each year. They teach little girls from 3-12 years old each day for a week. At the end of the week the girls put on a dance for halftime at the High School basketball game. It was so fun for the girls. They loved it. Here are a few photos of our dancing girls!
Is she not a beauty!!!!

Then it was little Clara's turn. She was so funny to watch. She was darling.

School of Rock is Open!

We are official business owners!!!!!!
The School of Rock is open and we are so excited. After months of working on the location, ordering equipment the School of Rock Boise is up and running.
Our 1st students have signed up and are taking lessons each week.
Even the Slatter Kids are joining in on the Rock and Roll fun! Isaac is playing the drums, Zach the guitar, Camilla vocals and Dylan is learning how to play the bass (he already plays the guitar). Sounds like we have our very own Slatter Rock Band! Clara can not wait until she is 7 years old so that she can play at the School of Rock!
Each Saturday the kids come for band practice. They get to play together and learn from the instructors. It is great to see all the talent that these kids have. Some have played for years and others are just starting.

The place turned out great. We are excited that things are going well so far.
Come visit us and you can check out the School of Rock Boise!

Skiing Idaho

We have had the best time skiing again. It is fun to be out west and enjoy the great snow. We are all season pass holders at Bogus. It is something we can all do together.

The view up the mountain is amazing. It is a steep drop off, but so beautiful to see the pine trees covered in snow. We can't wait to come and and go night skiing!
