He is Thirteen Today!

On a cold February night in Vermont 2 weeks after his due date, Zach decided to come into the world! Born at 11:30 at night in Hanover New Hampshire weighing in at almost 9lbs and 22inches long Zach attack, Zach Wild, Zip, Powder, Nugget or what ever his nickname pushed his way quietly into our family!
Zach is a great kid. Funny.Kind.Sweet.Sensitive.Supportive.Thoughtful.
He has always been a great kid. Trying to always do his best. He is a great example to all his sibling.

This year Zach got his yearly Candy Card made by Camilla, Isaac and Clara. Zach has the biggest sweet tooth of all the Slatter kids. The morning after his family birthday party I told him I did not want him waking up and eating a candy bar for breakfast. He had a funny smile on his face. I said Zach did you already eat a candy bar this morning before school? He said "No of course not Mother....I had the last piece of my cake for breakfast"
Zach got a brand new Guitar (photos coming). He named her Sharon.
Since Zach was a baby he always has had such a great smile....
Zach was (and still is) the pickiest eater. He will stare down a plate full of food and not even try a bite.
Zach can make a joke out of just about any situation. He can make me laugh when I am trying to get mad at him.
Zach will try anything. But once he decides that he does not like to do the activity he is so stubborn and will not try it again.
How can you not just love that face....What a handsome teenager he is now. A super great kid. I am so proud to be your Mom! As a baby we were always Mom and Dad. Zach calls us Mother and Father (a more formal version) now! What a ham he is!

We love you Zach!

Clara, Ivy and London enjoying their valentine lollipops!

Will you be MY Valentine?

We had a fun Family night where everyone was given 6 hearts. We talked about what we love and respect about each other. We talked about how important family is. We then went to a quiet space in the house and wrote down what we love, appreciate or think of everyone in the family. The kids had tape and went around the house and had to tape up each of the hearts all around the house. They had so much fun thinking about where to place their hearts. (Zach put Camilla's on the top of the toilet lid) We had fun walking around the house reading what everyone had written. We have kept them up all month. Here is a glimpse of what a few of our hearts said.Isaac you always know when to choose the right! You always make me laugh....Dylan

Dylan you are an alien but I love you, & you are a great driver...from Zach
Camilla, You are so helpful! You always want to help out and I love your cooking....Dad

Mom, you "make" the best food....Isaac
Isaac you Rock the Drums....Camilla

What's happening?

This blog post is just for my record to remind me what life was like in 2010....remembering what life was like with 5 kids going, doing being....organized chaos!

It's 2010
Here is what the 7 of us are up too and in too.

3 callings in church is too many!

Dylan starting drivers training & is giving me gray hairs.

Only A's and some B's for Dylan, Zach and Camilla this semester!

Clara can make a microphone out of just about anything and is constantly "caught" singing in her room to rock music!

At the end of the day Isaac has the dirtiest hands I have ever seen and I love it. It makes me realize how much he is a boy and LOVES to play!

Dylan getting "busted" at school for kissing a girl. Living in a small town does have it's benefits.

Zach turning more independent and showing us just how much he cares about everything he does. He is still very cautious but is getting more confident.

Camilla riding her bike home from school everyday with her little sister in tow.

Isaac was asked to be involved in 2 creative challenge studies at school.

Trying to keep up with 2 book clubs.... ridiculously hard.

Love our tradition of watching the show 24 with the boys every Monday night on TV.

Trying to make a salad every night with dinner.

Opening up School of Rock, keeping up with Tax clients and buying his wife a house (after MONTHS of her complaining about this rental)

Giving up pedicures, artificial nails, eating out, Target shopping and much more just because I don't need that stuff.

Family Home Evening every week.

Training for Races again.

Wanting to adopt another baby, but realizing I should stop now while it's SOOO good, but still yearning for another one.

Camilla's Sunday afternoon desserts

Western Snow storms again

Driving to SLC over 6 times in 6 months!

A more mellow dog....whew never again will I have a puppy (or a dog for that matter).

Isaac can make something out of nothing. He is always in the works of something creative.

Camilla learned how to French braid. I love it when she does my hair. It reminds me of my Grandma Creer. She wants to practice all the time.

Camilla also will get her basket of yarn and knot and crochet for hours. Just like her great Grandma Creer.

Dylan playing LAX for the High School Team. He is so nervous, but deep down really loves it.

Guitar, Bass, Violin, Drums, Vocals, Gymnastic, Scouts, more Gymnastics, Activity Days, LAX, Mutual, skiing & Drivers Ed lessons each week.

Thursday ski day (adults only)

Zach being patient and sharing a room with Isaac. Not complaining, but at almost 13 I can tell he wants to finally be rid of Isaac. They have shared a room since...well about 7 years.

Taking a knitting class so I can "keep up" with Camilla.

Having only each other because for months there was no one else. Moving to a new location promises family bonding!

Life is good~!
